The Eartec TCS Wired series are no nonsense wired intercoms that provide an open line of communication and an extra measure of coordination to production teams. Utilizing unique electronics design, the headsets operate without complicated amplification consoles. Ultra headsets include internal circuitry built into the ear cups eliminating the need for belt packs. Individual volume control is also installed on the headsets. The Ultra Double Headset is available as a replacement headset for all popular wired production intercoms.

Good news! According to the FCC, "the 600MHz band auction, which began last spring, is finally coming to a long awaited conclusion. After 3 failed rounds, round 4 has met the required conditions for a successful end. This round offered 84MHz of spectrum to the wireless carriers and other interested parties and will result in the loss of TV channels 38-51, (614-698 MHz). Remember that TV channel 37 was, and will continue to be, off limits for wireless mics, so the remaining usable bands will be UHF channels 14-36."

Once the bidding concludes (expected to happen by the end of January), the FCC is faced with the task of reassigning the existing TV stations in the upper 600MHz spectrum to new channels be low 608MHz in a process called "repacking." For the time being, we know how much spectrum is to remain, but we can't predict what the exact channel lineup your city or town is going to look like. Once the FCC publishes the final channel reassignment notice, this will triggera 39-month time period after which all wireless microphone operation above 614MHz must cease.

As for the legal talk.....

FCC Consumer Alert Most users do not need a license to operate this wireless microphone system. Nevertheless, operating this microphone system without a license is subject to certain restrictions: the system may not cause harmful interference; it must operate at a low power level (not in excess of 50 milliwatts); and it has no protection from interference received from any other device. Purchasers should also be aware that the FCC is currently evaluating use of wireless microphone systems, and these rules are subject to change. For more information, call the FCC at 1-888-CALL-FCC (TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC) or visit the FCC's wireless microphone website.

All this being said, if you are planning on purchasing or have any questions, please feel free to contact us.
